The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives, in the Parliament assembled. The petition of the undersigned in the State of Queensland respectfully showeth:

That we wish to express our concern over the proposal to commence Irradiation of food in Australia.

Your petitioners, therefore, humbly pray that the Parliament of Australia will insure that no irradiation of food be permitted in Australia.

We further petition a ban on the importation of the radioactive isotopes, Caesium 137 and Caesium 134 and Cobalt-60 which could be used for the irradiation of food.

And your petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.
