Mr Mildren asked the Minister for Local Government and Administrative Services, upon notice, on 7 October 1986:

(1) How many Ministers use the Commonwealth Offices at 4 Treasury Place, Melbourne, on a regular basis.

(2) What arrangements have been made for airconditioning the offices.

(3) Which Ministers asked for the offices to be airconditioned.

(4) Were other Ministers consulted; if so, which ones and with what result.

(5) When did fitting out of the airconditioning take place.

(6) How many personnel and working days were involved.

(7) What was the cost of the work.

(8) What equipment was installed and what was its country of origin.

Mr Uren —The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

(1) Six.

(2) All ministerial suites were air-conditioned under the 1985-86 Civil Works Program.

(3) The Hon. Michael Duffy, Minister for Communications; The Hon. Clyde Holding, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs; Senator, the Hon. John Button, Minister for Industry, Technology and Commerce.

(4) No.

(5) Over the period February 1986 to September 1986.

(6) Eight personnel; One hundred and fifty four working days.

(7) $235,000.

(8) `Temperzone' reverse cycle heat pump units of New Zealand origin.
