To the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives in Parliament assembled, Parliament House, Canberra, A.C.T. 2600. We your petitioners, humbly showeth:

That the wildlife species, in this case-the kangaroo, have a right to exist and flourish independently of human needs. For this reason alone we should not regard the kangaroo as a human resource nor contemplate commercial exploitation simply because more offspring are born each generation than can hope to survive.

Permissible cropping rates are unknown and the means of enforcing controls or protective legislation is completely ineffective and inadequate due to the widespread nature of the industry.

All Australians have a responsibility to our already declining wildlife.

We your petitioners therefore humbly pray that you will:

1. Ban the exports of products made from kangaroos.

2. Take action to see that State Governments prohibit the commercial killing of kangaroos.
