Mr STEELE HALL(6.01) —As I remember the report of the Joint Select Committee on Electoral Reform this is one of the clauses in respect of which the Government has not followed its recommendation, which was that we would not have displays of such a nature in polling booths. The Chairman can correct me if I am wrong.


Dr Klugman —In the polling booth but not in the cubicle.


Mr STEELE HALL —Perhaps there was a difference there that I did not pick up at the time. I do not oppose the proposal in that it is part of the list system of voting. If we have a list system we must have this. Such a system is objectionable and I merely want to state the case. This is just a part of that system.
