Mr WEST —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That this House-

(1) condemns the Government for presiding over rapidly worsening unemployment in the steel industry, the domestic coking coal industry and the ancillary steel rolling mills such as John Lysaght at Westernport and Port Kembla, with its consequential devastating effect on workers' living standards and regional business, and

(2) calls on the Government to keep the House in session to take emergency measures to halt the rapidly deteriorating employment situation.
