(Question No. 24)

Senator Rocher asked the Minister representing the Minister for Transport, upon notice, on 26 November 1980:

(1) What academies are authorised to instruct students seeking to obtain Senior Commercial and Airline Transport Pilot Licences in Australia.

(2) What percentage of candidates from each authorised academy passed examinations in the year 1979-80 for each of the subjects of air navigation, flight planning, and meteorology.

Senator Messner —The Minister for Transport has provided the following answer to the honourable senator's question:

(1) There are no academies authorised for this purpose. The Department of Transport does not authorise, approve or licence any organisation engaged in ground instruction for the Senior Commercial and Airline Transport Licences.

(2) Because there is no approval process there are no separate figures available on examination results for students of particular organisations.
