Receiving petitions

Petitions from citizens requesting action by the Hous e are lodged by Members with the Clerk of the House who announces a summary of their content to the House, or may be presented directly by Members themselves. The subject matter of a petition is then referred to the appropriate Minister for information. Any ministerial response is also reported to the House. 1
