Senator MASON (New South Wales) - I wish to speak generally on the Human Rights Commission Bill 1979. I wish to make some final comments on behalf of the Australian Democrats on the so called Human Rights Commission Bill because we believe that the point needs to be clearly made that the Australian public is being sold a pup.


Senator Durack - I take a point of order. We are in Committee. We are dealing with a particular clause. The only relevant debate is in relation to that clause, not to the Human Rights Commission generally.
